Mechanical pencil of the heavy series made of high quality brass with an individual touch
In the beginning of the industrial age pens were made of hard rubber (Ebonite). The material was just polished. Brass was already used for pens, but mainly for the ornamental elements, such as clips and decorative rings. The cartridge technology finally made the usage of other materials possible, because the ink no longer came in contact with the metal.
The Kaweco Brass Sport Mechanical Pencil is made from solid brass, which is left untreated and uncoated, it weighs more than most other mechanical pencils currently available. The untreated finish means this pencil will wear over time and develop a unique patina depending on use and storage conditions. The finish can either be left to develop or can be restored using brass polish.
