About Kaweco

Kaweco has a long and distinguished history of making fine writing instruments since 1883. Founded originally in Heidelberg, Germany, Kaweco first started with the manufacturing of dip pens. Kaweco is now based in Nurnberg, Germany. The iconic logo “Ka We Co” in three-part circle first emerged in the 1930’s and continues to be used on every Kaweco pen manufactured today. The brand “Kaweco” signifies the name of the company Koch, Weber and Company.
Over more than a century, Kaweco has produced numerous celebrated models of writing instruments. Models like Sport, Dia, Elite and Liliput have been highly successful and have endured the test of time. They continue to be produced today and loved by pen enthusiasts across the world. Kaweco’s iconic “Sport” series, started in 1911, celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011 - an unprecedented and much envied record of any brand of writing instrument! To mark this special occasion, Kaweco introduced the 100th Anniversary Special Edition Sport Series – the "AC Sport Red".
Kaweco prides itself on its more than 120 years of history, tradition and fine craftsmanship in making quality writing instruments – the very core values pen users will continue to find in every Kaweco pen manufactured today. Mr. Michael Gutberlet, the current owner of the “Kaweco” brand, is a pen enthusiast and an expert in the manufacturing of writing instruments. Mr. Gutberlet revitalised the brand in 1995.
